Players report account-wide visibility in the new friends list

Several beta players say adding a Forever friend reveals other characters’ online presence. No official behavior description was found.

Updated What changed

Added a firsthand account: after adding someone by accident, a player saw that account’s activity. Clarified confidence; there is still no official behavior specification.

Description

In a discussion from October 6-7, several players said the Forever now works across an account rather than per character. They say an added friend can see when you play another character and message you outside the current character. Later, Largozh said they added someone by accident and could see that player’s activity. We found no official specification for this behavior. These are player reports, not a confirmed service rule.

Effect

If you use different characters with separate groups, check what a new friend can see before accepting an invitation.

How to reproduce it

  1. Before accepting a new invitation, open the and inspect any access description in the client.
  2. Ask an existing friend to check whether they see your status after you log in on another character. Do not use a new acquaintance as a test without their agreement.
  3. If the visibility differs from your expectations, delay new invitations until you check the privacy settings.
