Bugs First forum report September 21, Wowhead test published September 29
Auction House took 1 silver instead of the displayed copper
Independent tests before build 70058 found a deposit mismatch. Check your balance before posting cheap items.
Status: Confirmed on an earlier build. No verified retest for 1.60.1.70058.
Description
Several tests found that an auction deposit displayed below one silver still charged a full silver. In Wowheadβs test, the window showed four copper. The balance fell from 34 silver 61 copper to 33 silver 61 copper. Earlier Blizzard forum and Reddit reports describe the same effect. This case has not been retested in build 1.60.1.70058.
Effect
Early characters need silver for training. Posting a cheap item can lose money when the actual deposit exceeds the displayed one, especially if it does not sell. These tests do not establish that the issue still exists after the latest update.

How to reproduce it
- Record your money and the displayed deposit before posting a cheap auction.
- For a controlled test, post one low-value item such as , then check the balance. There is no need to repeat the loss many times.
- If more money is taken, avoid unprofitable small listings. Compare the vendor price with the expected auction profit.
- Report the client build, item, displayed deposit, and balance before and after. A retest on 1.60.1.70058 is especially useful.

The author clarified that the finding concerns deposits below 1 silver. Larger deposits do not necessarily round the same way.

Reported getting the deposit back after a sale. This is one observation, not a check of every auction outcome.
