Description
At 20:06 UTC on September 28, Kaivax confirmed that real-money is prohibited in both beta and the live game. Blizzard is increasing action against buyers: illicit gold may be removed and accounts may be closed. Gifts and one-sided transfers are also mentioned when the recipient knew or should have known the gold was illicit.
Effect
A seller website or lack of an immediate ban is not permission. The reply does not automatically prohibit every ordinary gift.
How to reproduce it
- Do not buy gold for real money. Beta and live follow the same rule.
- Consider the source of a large one-sided transfer from a stranger. The warning concerns knowingly illicit funds, not every gift.
- Report suspicious trading through the game. The reply gives neither a list of punished players nor a universal penalty schedule.
