Updated What changed

Added another independent account of checking actual health: the author considers the mismatch a display error. No full log supplied.

Description

Archive backfill: on October 5, a player compared healing shown to the healer and target in , an early dungeon, and reported different numbers. Their example used the Druid direct-heal spell . They also saw the effect with a Priest, so the report is not limited to one class. Another player said that, in their tests, it affected direct heals but not self-healing. They observed it on targets level 17 and above in , a dungeon near Ironforge. For , a dungeon in the Barrens, they relayed reports about targets level 21 and above. Those thresholds have no separate confirmation. Neither author gave a build number. After the previous check, another participant reported that actual health restored matched expectations across several dungeon runs despite lower displayed numbers. They supplied no build or full log. Comparing target health before and after healing remains more useful than a floating number alone. This does not confirm that every spell works correctly.

Effect

A may mislead players checking healing output in a group. Compare it with the target's health gain rather than judging a spell from one log line.

How to reproduce it

  1. Use a healer and an injured target. Record both levels, the direct-heal spell rank and your build. As an example, the Forever database lists a entry available to Druids at level 20, the report does not state the rank tested.
  2. Cast the same heal outside a dungeon and compare the healer's combat log, the target's log and the target's health change. Repeat with the same characters inside .
  3. If the numbers differ, capture both logs and health before and after the cast. Record the dungeon and target level. Treat the and thresholds as player observations, not established game rules.

What players report

  • babonihub
