Retaking The Great Outdoors may restore missed campfire credit
New October 8 report: sitting at the did not give quest credit. Abandoning and retaking the quest worked for that player. Other players describe similar workarounds in different starting zones.
Status: New report after the evening digest. No fix on build 1.60.1.70245 is confirmed, and the reporter did not name their client build.

Description
asks you to sit by the quest giver's and receive the positive effect in the quest objective. An older Blizzard forum post describes getting a one-hour negative effect without quest credit. On October 8, another player reported that the problem recurred after sitting at the fire. They said abandoning and retaking the quest, then sitting again, fixed it. On Forever pages for other versions of this quest, players have reported missed sitting credit and used either a fresh quest or a new login. The new forum report does not name a client build. JC0891 reported the same missing /sit credit. Abandoning the quest, using /reload, accepting it again and sitting worked for them. The comment appeared after the previous October 14 check. This is another author’s successful workaround, not a guarantee.
Effect
This early quest opens later camp features. If its objectives stop progressing, you have a specific way to try again. Results may vary by character and build.
How to reproduce it
- At level 4 or higher, pick up your version of . Find the named quest giver's in your starting zone. The NPC and place vary by race.
- Type /sit at that fire and check both objectives: sitting and receiving the positive effect. Record your build and active camp effects if neither objective advances.
- If credit is missing, abandon the quest, accept it again and repeat /sit at the same fire. This worked for the October 8 poster and one Wowhead commenter.
- If retaking does not help, log out of the character, log back in and repeat /sit. This separate workaround comes from older Wowhead comments and is not confirmed for build 70245.
