Resetting pet skills may remove its faster attack passive
Two Hunters say a pet loses its native passive after a skill reset. One cat went from 1.3 to 2.0 attack speed. No recovery method is verified.
Status: Behavior in a named build and a fix remain unverified. The posts describe a loss after reset, but do not prove it affects every fast pet.
Description
Archive backfill: on the morning of October 7, two Hunters independently described losing a native passive after . The first warned that disappears and cannot be selected again. The second tested their own cat: its attack speed changed from 1.3 to 2.0 after the reset. The Forever database lists several ranks for pets. Rank V, for example, increases attack speed by 54%. The reporter did not name the cat's exact rank. The database does not say that a reset should remove the passive.
Effect
Before resetting a fast pet's skills, record its attack speed and passive skills. If keeping the speed matters, postpone the reset. These reports give no verified way to restore the lost passive.

How to reproduce it
- As a Hunter, inspect a pet you have already tamed. Record its attack speed and passive, if shown. Pets can have different ranks. The passive's exact unlock level is not separately established in the database.
- Avoid resetting that pet's skills if you need its faster attacks until a fix is verified. One player's cat changed from 1.3 to 2.0 attack speed after a reset.
- If you already reset it, check the passive list and attack speed. Give Blizzard the client build, before and after values and pet species in a report. Neither original player gave a build number.
What players report
- Bedewyr, Blizzard forum
Warned that the reset removes hidden Faster Attack and it cannot be learned again from the available list.
