The September 24 patch fixed working on beasts above the Hunter's level and happiness failing to decrease at max loyalty. It also reduced the attack-power bonus by 40%. Viral September 23 summaries promising higher-level tames and no happiness decay refer to an older build.
Effect
Both changes affect rare-pet routes and how much food to carry. An outdated tip can send you after a beast you cannot tame.
How to reproduce it
- Before travelling to a rare beast, confirm that its level is no higher than yours.
- Carry suitable pet food and watch happiness even at maximum loyalty.
- Use the reduced bonus when comparing wolf pets.
