Leaving a group reportedly hid a player’s camp after a layer switch
A new report describes a layer switch at the Wetlands–Arathi Highlands border during PvP. An earlier player lost sight of a camp after leaving a group. Builds are unknown.
Status: Both cases remain player reports without a confirmed fix or a build-1.60.1.70245 test.

Added an October 8 PvP report: crossing from Wetlands into Arathi Highlands switched layers and removed opponents from view. The camp case remains a separate report.
Description
On October 7, a player reported building a camp with others around and gaining camp buffs. Joining and then leaving a group immediately moved the player to another layer. The other players, camp and buffs disappeared from view. The post gives no build number. On October 8, another player described a separate case: during an Alliance versus Horde fight, crossing from Wetlands into Arathi Highlands changed the layer and removed opposing players from view. This player did not link it to camping or give a build number. It is a new zone-boundary example, not a repeat test of the camp buff.
Effect
When planning a camp or fighting near a zone boundary, allow for a possible layer switch. Each scenario is still one player report. Frequency and a workaround are unknown.
How to reproduce it
- In the current beta, gather around with a group and note the active buffs.
- After leaving the group, check your layer and whether the camp and buffs remain visible. If they vanish, record your build and report it to Blizzard.
- Until retested, do not assume the camp will remain available after changing groups.
- To check the PvP case, cross the Wetlands–Arathi Highlands border with a group and record whether the same players remain visible. The new reporter lost sight of opponents. One case does not establish a rule for every zone boundary.
