Night Watchman’s Torch: model missing, light reports differ
Two authors report no model or light. A third still sees light but no torch in the character’s hands.
Status: Three October 15 reports. Author builds omitted. No editorial reproduction on current build 70374, and no fix confirmed.

A third author clarified that their Paladin lost the torch model but still has light. The two symptoms are separated.

Two authors report the torch buff appears but its model and light are missing. Moved the story to Bugs and kept its original route.
Description
On October 15, mrphr34k reported that applies its buff but no longer shows the torch or its light. They observed this on a Human Warrior and Human Paladin. Blues described the same problem on a Night Elf Warrior. Sandozer clarified that their Paladin still has light but no torch in their hands. A missing model and missing light may be separate symptoms. Builds, graphics settings and test conditions are omitted. This does not establish failure for every class. Original September 26-27 reports: A corpse appears in and starts . The reported reward is . The Forever item database shows a 30-second cooldown. Players and a beta guide report that its light lasts about five minutes, ends on combat and cannot be used in major cities.
Effect
Before exploring a dark area, check for visible light rather than just the buff icon. Acquisition and earlier behavior are described below, but current lighting is not confirmed for every condition.
How to reproduce it
- Travel to in western . Look for the behind the largest building near an outhouse. One player reported about 17,54. This is a sighting, not a guaranteed spawn.
- If the corpse is absent, check other parts of . Players also reported it by a road and a path toward the grove. The complete spawn set and timer are unknown.
- Interact with the corpse, complete and claim . Use it outside cities and combat.
- After using it outside combat and a city, check the torch model and light around the character. If only the buff appears, post class, race, settings and build in the original thread. No verified workaround.
Further conditions
- One location is not guaranteed: players found the corpse at more than one spot.
- The quest's exact level requirement has not been verified. Travel in can be dangerous at the current beta cap.
