Priest shield could block a Paladin's Seal of Fury Mana return
Players reported that absorbs damage before 's shield. The Paladin talent returns no Mana until its own shield is spent.
Status: A community tracker maintainer dated the fix October 15. Status in build 1.60.1.70245 has not been retested.
Description
This is an archive backfill for October 2-6. Two players independently described an absorb-shield conflict on the Blizzard forum. A shield-equipped Paladin uses : melee attacks create an absorb shield. should return Mana when that shield is fully consumed. According to the player reports, after a Priest applies , incoming damage goes to the Priest shield first. The Paladin shield stays intact, so the talent returns no Mana. Issue #255 from October 6 provides reproduction steps. A community tracker maintainer marked a fix for October 15, but the checked sources do not retest build 1.60.1.70245.
Effect
A Priest and a Paladin who relies on the Mana return can coordinate shield use during a fight. If the Paladin gets no Mana back, check absorb order and client build before changing talents.

How to reproduce it
- Group a shield-equipped Paladin with and a Priest with . The first checked version requires Paladin level 10. Client data for 70235 lists the talent from level 20 without Legacy Talented. Its level in 70245 has not been checked.
- The Paladin activates . The Priest casts on the Paladin.
- The Paladin makes a melee attack to gain the Seal absorb shield, then takes incoming damage.
- Compare absorption by both shields and Mana gained. In the earlier report, the Priest shield absorbed damage first, leaving the Seal shield unspent. If this repeats in 70245, add the build number and combat log to the original report.
Further conditions
- Archive backfill: direct player posts appeared on October 2 and 5. Separate claims about Thorns or Retribution Aura in one forum post need their own verification and are not included here.
