Status: Issue #116 is open and marked Pending Approval. The new report does not name a build, so status on 70245 is unknown.

Description

On October 7 at 10:19 MSK, a beta player reported that Sapping some creatures enters combat and sometimes breaks . This adds to open issue #116, where a nearby enemy attacked the Rogue after another target was Sapped. The #116 author attached a video. Two other players described similar behavior in an October 1 forum thread. The Forever spell record says should retain and generate no threat. The new reporter did not name a build, so behavior on 1.60.1.70245 is unverified.

Effect

When setting up a dungeon pull, do not rely on to keep nearby creatures out of combat. Coordinate with the tank before testing this crowd control.

How to reproduce it

  1. A Rogue at level 10 or higher enters and finds two out-of-combat humanoids close enough to support each other. These are the conditions in issue #116.
  2. one creature. Check whether the other attacks and whether the Rogue enters combat. Record whether remains active.
  3. If you repeat the test on build 1.60.1.70245, include the build, creature names and result in the original thread. No workaround is verified.

Further conditions

  • This is an archive backfill with an October 7 report. Old comments on the Wowhead page refer to other game versions and do not verify the Forever issue.
  • Closed issue #199 concerned immediate combat with the Sapped target itself. A community tracker maintainer promised a fix in a future build on October 2. There is no confirmation that it works on 70245.
