Keep scarce materials from ordinary herbs, veins and skins

Description

Forever beta has a separate Scarce material group. Players obtained Frilled Lichen from Earthroot and Briarthorn. One also reported a creature drop, so herb-only sourcing is not established. A player found Pyrite in a copper vein, and Pristine Leather was skinned even from a level-13 boar at skill 75. These three do not require a dedicated vein, herb or beast. Exact rates and minimum skill thresholds are unknown. Icy Veins published its overview on September 30. Specific collection reports come from comments on Forever database pages. On October 8, several players said Frilled Lichen had stopped appearing while they gathered herbs. Aarkin reported more than 400 gathers without one after previously finding 10. They had 5/5 Bountiful Harvest. Treeent gathered previously eligible herbs for about four hours with 3/5, paid 10 gold to reset Legacy, then gathered another half-hour with no result. JonnyMclemon also reported hundreds of gathers without a find. These reports do not establish the exact rate, prove a zero chance or name the build. Nen compared Frilled Lichen gathering at 25 and 26: about 150 gathers after leveling produced none. Another participant found two in 30 gathers at 15 after unsuccessful gathering at 30. This suggests a level-related hypothesis, not a proven level-25 cutoff. Some players also failed to find Pristine Leather at low levels. Author builds omitted. The current build at the October 13 check was 70338. After the previous check, Nen added about 200 skins without Pristine Leather on a level-30 character in ⌖Stonetalon Mountains, the gathering zone for this test. They chose green beasts mostly at levels 23-25. The author also noticed at least four empty loot windows after which skinning could not be repeated. A link between empty windows and scarce materials remains speculation. This supports comparing character and target levels, but does not prove a level-25 cutoff or zero drop chance.

Effect

These materials connect gathering and crafting. The Alchemy recipe Cerulean Dye uses two Frilled Lichen and an Empty Vial. The current client list and recipe table both list a yield of one dye. Pyrite and Cerulean Dye go into Shining Boots, level-12 cloth gear with 4 Stamina, 3 Intellect and up to 6 Holy damage. Four Pristine Leather go into Brawler's Leather Hood, level-20 gear with 8 Agility and 10 Stamina. These are database recipe examples, not promises about auction prices. Do not spend 10 gold resetting Bountiful Harvest solely to restore Frilled Lichen drops: one player tried it without success.
