Blizzard clarifies Shaman Shield Specialization
The class article now lists as removed, not baseline. A player saw the normal 5% block chance with no talent points.
Description
An early wording in the Shaman class article led players to think had become baseline. On October 8, one player reported a 5% block chance with a shield and no talent points. A community tracker maintainer called the announcement entry a typo. The current Blizzard article explicitly lists under removed talents, separate from the baseline list.
Effect
Shamans planning shield gear or defense should not count on the former talent's extra block chance. An old spell record in the database does not establish that its effect works in beta.
How to reproduce it
- Check the current Shaman talent list. is absent.
- When comparing shields, inspect your character sheet with no talent points and a shield equipped. One player saw 5% on October 8.
- Do not include the old talent bonus in a defensive build unless Blizzard announces a new change.
What players report
- FrodoOf9Fingers, GitHub
Equipped a shield on a Shaman with no talents and saw 5% block. Did not give a client build.
