A Warlock can damage two long-lived targets at once

Blizzard clarified a level-30 talent: the target takes 15% of damage dealt to other enemies. It adds nothing against one target.

Description

In its Warlock deep dive published on October 8 Moscow time, Blizzard described as a 21-point Destruction talent. It lasts five minutes: the marked target takes 15% of damage the Warlock deals to other enemies. A Warlock can mark only one target with this Bane, and cannot keep two different Banes on one target. The direct Forever entry lists an instant cast, 30-yard range and 5% base Mana cost. The talent is reachable within the beta's level-30 cap. This explains an existing mechanic. It does not announce a new build.

Effect

In a fight with two targets that live long enough, attack one while part of the damage reaches the other. There is no transfer against a single target. The level-30 Wowhead guide recommends the talent for multiple-target fights.

How to reproduce it

  1. As a level-30 Warlock, spend 21 points in Destruction to reach . Other point allocations, including Legacy points, depend on the chosen build.
  2. In a two-target fight, apply to the longer-lived secondary enemy within 30 yards. Damage the main target and check whether the marked enemy takes a portion for up to five minutes.
  3. Do not place another Bane on the marked enemy. One Warlock's Banes exclude each other on a target. Choose a different spell in a single-target fight. Do not assume pet damage transfers: the official wording says Warlock damage, and the forum raises pet damage only as a question.

Further conditions
