Camera stutters while turning: test Secondary Lighting
On September 27, players reported camera stutter even at 60-75 FPS. Lowering to Good or Fair helped some players. Changing the overall preset did not help everyone.
Status: Reported on September 27 on build 1.60.1.70009. Reproducibility varies by device. No official fix status has been announced.
Description
Separate reports on build 1.60.1.70009 describe stutter during movement and camera turns while the FPS counter remains steady. is a graphics option for additional lighting. Two players reported smoother motion after reducing it. The cause is unconfirmed, and this adjustment is not a universal fix.
Effect
This is a focused setting to test before turning every graphics option down. Record its original value so you can restore the image if the test fails. The reports do not establish a single cause, driver, or affected platform.
How to reproduce it
- Record your graphics preset and current value. In a familiar scene, compare camera turns with straight movement.
- Change only to Good. If stutter remains, try Fair or the lowest value. Repeat the same movement and camera turn after each change.
- If there is no improvement, restore the original value. In a bug report, include build 1.60.1.70009, device model, standing and turning FPS, and the values tested.
Further conditions
- An overall low graphics preset is not a guaranteed fix: one Reddit author saw no difference between presets 1 and 10.
- An older Mac thread covers several other graphics defects. It does not establish the cause of this camera stutter.
What players report
- Original poster, Reddit
Camera turns stutter at about 60 FPS. Switching overall presets from 1 to 10 did not remove the symptom.

At about 75 FPS, camera turns looked like a slide show. Lower Secondary Lighting helped substantially, but did not eliminate it.
