Player reports an empty combat file and incorrect creature names
Other participants confirmed incorrect names in the log window. One author could reproduce neither that symptom nor the file-recording problem.
Status: Author build omitted. No editorial reproduction on current build 70374. A fix is not confirmed.
Updated What changed
Added an independent screenshot of incorrect names and a negative reproduction: another author’s log writes normally. An empty file is not independently confirmed.
Description
, the combat event record, saved no fight data for ullander with advanced logging enabled. The author also attached a screenshot where one creature gained different player surnames in the log window. These are two observations by one author, not proof that all logs fail. Evening check: denthor274 supplied a second screenshot with different surnames attached to one creature name. sorgmantel also saw their own character name used for NPCs. However, kwazar-wow could reproduce neither symptom and said the log file generated normally. The second screenshot supports the name-display symptom for another author, not an empty file. These comments were posted on October 15 at 08:06-08:26 UTC and found in the evening recheck.
Effect
A short check before a long test can reveal missing output. An incorrect displayed name does not prove the creature or its stats changed.
How to reproduce it
- Enable advanced logging and combat recording. Run a short fight, then stop recording.
- Open the output file and check for events from that fight before a large test.
- If the file is empty or the creature name changes between lines, save the screenshot, settings and build for the original issue. The author gives no working workaround.
